Congresswoman Victoria Spartz was honored by the National Taxpayers Union (NTU) for her voting record supporting limited government, economic freedom, and low taxes. Rep. Spartz is among 38 House members to receive the "Taxpayers’ Friend Award" and an "A" rating.

"Our unsustainable fiscal path is a national security crisis with the serious implications of inflation and uncontrolled debt for many Americans," Spartz said. "I am honored to receive the 'Taxpayers’ Friend Award' and will continue my work to get our fiscal situation, neglected for decades, under control."

Pete Sepp, President of NTU, stated, "Our nation is facing unprecedented fiscal challenges and Congress must act in a more fiscally responsible manner. Casting votes to reduce spending and limit the growth of government is not always easy, but taxpayers should know that Representative Spartz has been one of the most consistent advocates for fiscal discipline. On behalf of the people who pay government's bills, National Taxpayers Union thanks Representative Spartz for her strong voting record."

Since 1979, NTU has annually recognized Representatives and Senators who earn high voting scores qualifying them for the “Taxpayers’ Friend Award.” The 2023 scorecard included 51 Senate votes and 223 House votes. NTU’s rating program evaluates every vote impacting tax, spending, trade, and regulatory policy using a methodical weighting system. No other fiscal policy scorecard matches NTU’s comprehensiveness.
