Congresswoman Victoria Spartz has put forward a significant health care proposal aimed at addressing issues with hospital monopolies and increasing transparency to combat fraud, waste, and abuse. This proposal is expected to foster competition and benefit the general public.

Spartz expressed concern over the growing financial burden of health care monopolies, stating, "Government-protected and subsidized health care monopolies are now consuming nearly 40% of all federal spending. Health care is also consuming nearly 20% of our GDP and is the main driver of personal bankruptcies." She highlighted the unsustainable rise in national debt, pointing out that interest payments are now surpassing national defense spending with expectations to reach 30% of revenue collections.

Touching on the escalation of health care costs, Spartz was critical of the results, noting, "Despite the price of health care almost tripling in the last two decades, outcomes and the health of our nation are among the worst of any developed countries." She warned of severe financial consequences if fraud, overbilling, and government-supported anti-competitive protectionism are not addressed swiftly.

Further details on the comprehensive health care package were made available.
