Today marks the third anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Congresswoman Victoria Spartz from Indiana's 5th district released a statement reflecting on the ongoing conflict and its impact.
Spartz acknowledged the efforts and sacrifices made by Ukrainian soldiers and their families. She stated, "My heart goes out to the brave Ukrainian soldiers and their families who sacrificed so much. Thanks to your courage - despite your worthless government, Putin was not able to take over Ukraine and move further into Europe." She emphasized that future generations will remember these sacrifices even if current recognition is lacking.
The congresswoman also expressed gratitude towards Americans who have contributed support, saying, "I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to my fellow Americans who have helped the Ukrainian people and others around the world - with blood and money."
In her statement, Spartz highlighted former President Donald Trump as a potential leader to bring about an end to the war. She remarked, "President Trump is the right leader to stop this war for now, so the Ukrainian people might have a chance to ultimately win the war and peace in the future."
Spartz's comments come at a time when discussions about international leadership and support for Ukraine remain significant topics on the global stage.
