Representative Spartz has introduced a bill to honor fallen Officer Shahnavaz of the Elwood Police Department. The initiative is supported by all members of the Indiana delegation.

“Noah was a true hero who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our nation," Spartz stated. "We must always remember the fallen and carry on the torch of freedom."

Officer Shahnavaz previously served as a sergeant in the United States Army with the 591st Military Police Company. He was deployed to the Middle East during the Global War on Terror.

The proposed legislation seeks to rename the post office at 119 North Anderson Street in Elwood, IN as the “Officer Noah Jacob Shahnavaz Post Office Building."
