Justice Center Construction Updates

Construction has officially begun on Boone County’s Justice Center.

Boone County’s Justice Center construction project is now underway, with the first week seeing significant progress. Equipment started arriving on Monday, and the excavation crew soon followed. Safety meetings were conducted to ensure a safe working environment for the workers. The team wasted no time, pushing dirt and prioritizing the retention pond as their first order of business. These actions have set the foundation for a successful and timely completion of the project.

The commissioners are working closely with the Sheriff’s Office administrative staff to transfer administrative operations to temporary housing located at the Boone County Fairgrounds, which is scheduled to be finalized by April 3, 2023. Please pay close attention to the Sheriff’s Office future media releases announcing these changes.

“Our priority is to ensure the seamless and timely completion of this project while keeping within the budget and completing the job safely for everyone involved. Despite ongoing supply chain challenges and price increases, we are committed to overcoming them to the best of our abilities,” said Executive Project Manager, Michael Nielsen.

Key vendors on the project include: K2M Design, Hagerman Group, GM Development, and The Veridus Group.
