Indiana Members Foundation Awards $2,500 For Ron Collier Family Collegiate Scholarship Program

Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), along with Indiana Members Credit Union, is excited to announce James Wilson as the recipient of the Ron Collier Family Collegiate Scholarship Program, receiving a $2,500 scholarship.  The Ron Collier Family Collegiate Scholarship Program is available to Senior students attending New Palestine High School that are members of Indiana Members Credit Union, intending to study full-time at an accredited college or university. Applications are accepted annually from January 1 through February 28.

Indiana Members Credit Union President and CEO, Ron Collier, donates $2,500 annually to Indiana Members Foundation for the scholarship for a New Palestine High School Senior.

Collier is a long time resident of New Palestine, and his three children all graduated from New Palestine High School.  His oldest daughter, Ashley, is a teacher at Sugar Grove Elementary and her sons attend Sugar Grove.  After graduating from Ball State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, he went on to teach at Noblesville High School.  Collier has been with IMCU since 1985 and became President and CEO in 2003.  Indiana Members Credit Union continues to grow under his leadership, reaching $3 Billion in assets in 2022.

Collier embraces the credit union philosophy of “people helping people”, and helped establish Indiana Members Foundation in 2010 exclusively for the purpose of being a positive influence in the community served by Indiana Members Credit Union; specifically, providing school children in the Indianapolis area with the necessities essential for learning and succeeding in their education.

Collier and wife Debbie, have three children and five grandchildren: Ashley (Colin & Connor), Katie, and Daniel (Micah, Samuel, & Joey).  He enjoys golf, fishing and cheering on the Colts, Pacers and Cubs.

Todd Habig, Senior Vice President of Finance, IMCU, and Joe Amick, IMCU Eastside Branch Manager, presented the check to James during the New Palestine High School Senior Awards Night, May 11, 2022.  James will be attending Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) in the fall and plans to study business.

Ron Collier, President and CEO of Indiana Members Credit Union stated, “As a former school teacher, I understand the importance of a good education and providing our youth with the tools they need to become successful leaders.  This scholarship allows our family the opportunity to give back to students in our community and help offset the expenses associated with going to college.  I am delighted to present this scholarship to James and help him pursue his dream of higher education and wish him continued success with his future education.  By helping the youth in the communities we serve, we can create stronger communities for years to come.”
